Welcome to the Baldwin County Amateur Radio Club on the web. On
these pages you will learn about who we are and what amateur
radio is all about. We serve all areas of expansive
Baldwin County Alabama. We provide severe weather reports
and shelter assistance to emergency management,
public service, and civil defense agencies. We also have a
lot of fun and reap a lot of enjoyment and education from our
hobby. Ham radio is a family oriented activity open to all
ages. We hope you enjoy our site and visit some of the
many amateur radio related links we have provided. Please
feel free to attend one of our meetings or drop us an email if
you are interested in starting a rewarding new hobby!

This
Saturday, October 26th is our Fall Parks On the Air (POTA)
Event
From Ken Bell - K4EES:
Baldwin County ARC and Deep South ARC will meet at
Historic Blakely State Park, which is North of Spanish
Fort about 5 miles on Hwy 225. Blakely was an important
site during the Civil War and is a great park for such
an activity. There are Cell Phone Tours, Battlefield
Tours and other activities at the park if you want to
make a full day of it.
I plan to arrive early to setup antennas, but plan on
showing up about 10AM and we will get the POTA event
kicked off. BCARC has rented a pavilion for the
activity. Please bring a chair or two in case we need
the extra seating. We are allowed 20 guests at no cost.
Veterans and Active Military get in for free so use your
VET status which will allow more to get in under our
paid pavilion. If you are late, you may have to pay an
entry fee. The event will run to 2-3pm or till the last
radio gets turned off.
For food, Deep South ARC will again provide hotdogs and
Mr. Roy Davis will be our cook. Baldwin County ARC will
provide fixings for the hotdogs and water to drink. We
would appreciate those that can please bring
non-alcoholic drinks, side dishes, or deserts to share.
Does your license begin with a KQ? Are you a new or
rusty operator? This is your opportunity to get on the
air! If you arent yet a General Class Licensee, you can
operate under the tutelage and license of an experienced
operator. We will log under the club callsign, so both
the club AND the Operator get credit for the POTA
contacts.
Hope to see you Saturday morning at Blakely!
